“We’re a smallish health & safety consultancy based in Cork, Ireland. We received a mailer from the Team Group suggesting that they could get us to the top of Google News and possibly high up on Google itself. Knowing how difficult it is to get to the top of Google we were naturally a bit skeptical but decided to give it a go since the price was reasonable.
At his request we sent Henry Newrick of the Team Group some background information on our company and within three days he’d turned this into a fairly impressive press release optimized with keywords which are important to our business. The release was submitted to the internet at 1pm on Wednesday February 10.
Just three hours later we held the number 1 position on Google News for a number of keywords and one hour later we achieved a Page 1 ranking on Google for one of the keywords. Within 7 hours we held page one rankings for at least three important keywords including ‘health & safety training Ireland’ where there are 1,620,000 competitive entries. The release contained at least two links back to our website which currently languishes down the ranking ladder, and we’re hopeful of seeing increased traffic as a result of this positioning. We understand the mere linking from the release back to our website can also help push the website up the Google ladder.
We’ll almost certainly use the service again when we have something to say.
